What is World Day of Prayer Australia?
- World Day of Prayer is a global Christian event run by women. Our history goes back to 1812.
- We organise a worldwide day of prayer every year on the first Friday in March. Tens of thousands of local congregations in over 170 countries take part.
- Each year a different country is chosen to pray for. We also raise funds for that country, partnering with Bible Society Australia to provide relief and Bible resources.
- Join us to unite with women from diverse backgrounds for a day of prayer, and to encourage friendship and action all year long!
How Does It Work?
1. Attend a world day of prayer event
2. Pray for this year's theme country
3. Donate to relief and Bible programs
What is This Year's Country and Theme?
Our country for 2026 is Nigeria. Our theme for 2026 is “I Will Give You Rest: Come” – Matthew 11:28-30
God created each one of us with great attention and loving care. God knows us intimately, and we are special to God in our uniqueness. When we open the doors of our hearts to this truth, everything in our life changes. We glow from within, and we begin treating others as beloved children of God. We hope people will be spiritually uplifted as they come to trust the great love of God.
