Marj DredgeSA President
Originally from Queensland, my husband and I have lived in South Australia for much of our married life, apart from 5 years in Canberra and 3 years in Queensland, serving in various ministry roles within Churches of Christ in Australia and at Ecumenical levels also. We retired from full time ministry in 2004.
Apart from supporting my husband in his ministry, I have had the privilege to hold a number of significant roles within Churches of Christ and beyond. In 1993/4, I had the honour of being appointed the first women to hold the role of Conference President of Churches of Christ in South Australia. I have also served in Churches of Christ Women’s Ministry at state, national and International levels, and have been an Australian delegate to the World Convention of Churches of Christ for a number of years.
I have been a member of the South Australian Unit of Australian Church Women inc since 1984, serving as Community Concern Convenor and, subsequently, as both state and national President. I have recently been given the honour of being appointed a National Life Member of Australian Church Women.
My involvement with World Day of Prayer, Australia goes back many years, often being the speaker at annual services. I was appointed to the South Australian Committee, as a delegate of Australian Church Women, SA unit, in 2007 and served as National Liaison officer 2011-2013. I have recently been appointed as the President of the South Australian Committee.
We have 4 children and are privileged to be grandparents to 7 lovely girls.

I am married to Colin and we have four adult children and three grandchildren.
I love my family but especially enjoy my two Grandma days each week.
I am a qualified teacher and I earned my M.Soc.Sc. with a Counselling Major at University
South Australia. I have always been involved in women's ministry in my local church in
various capacities because I have a passion for helping women. Working with women has
honed my skills in relationship counselling – and my knowledge of the best coffee shops in
My husband is a motivational speaker so I have travelled to many conferences overseas and
within Australia. Travelling and meeting people around the globe has helped me appreciate
our wonderful country and that women the world over want to be loved, accepted and valued.
Counselling has been my way of helping people and as a partner in our business I have also
coached business owners and executives.
In March 2011, God created an amazing set of circumstances that have resulted in my
appointment as Director of Baptist Women in SA. I am excited to be a part of what God is
doing among women here in SA and in Australia.

My family and I attend St Matthews Catholic Church, Bridgewater, in the Adelaide Hills and really enjoy this community. Our children went to the local Catholic Primary School and then to the city for their High School years; we maintain firm family friends from their school days and from our Parish.
I like to be involved in the preparation of World Day of Prayer in our Adelaide Hills area. In 2012 was gently nudged to be a Catholic delegate of World Day of Prayer, S.A. Committee; following in 2013 as the Assistant Secretary and 2015 the Secretary.
In the Hills my husband is involved in the local St Vincent de Paul Society Conference, and I like to assist him; and I am the Secretary of the local Catholic Women’s League and he helps me. I enjoy volunteering on our Parish Baptism Team and take Communion to Nursing Homes and housebound Parishioners.
My hobbies include playing tennis, walking, sewing, reading and crocheting.
I look forward to serving this World Day of Prayer, S.A. Committee.
Wishing everyone an ecumenical, educational and exciting World Day of Prayer service.
